| Vista Home 32bit | Cannot Open Port For uTorrent Dear All, I haven't been able to open port for uTorrent. I even followed the step-by-step instruction at: How to Open Port for Torrent Downloading - Video and I still can't get my uTorrent to show me the GREEN TICK. I am using Vista Home Edition, with Motorola SBV5121 and Linksys WRT54G2. Norton 360. I was able to open port for my old Motorola SBG1000i (with built-in router). But ever since I changed my modem/router, I could never get my port open. Please help and advise what I should do next. Thanks much. |

| Vista Home 32bit | Re: Cannot Open Port For uTorrent Hi Bankerrahul, Thanks for your reply. My Windows Firewall is off. I even attempted to untick the following in my router firewall's setup: Block Anonymous Internet Requests Filter Multicast Filter Internet NAT Redirection Filter IDENT (Port 113) I have also untick the following in Norton's Firewall - Traffic Rules: Default Windows File Sharing Nothing's changed. It's so discouraging. I don't know what I did wrong. |

| Vista Home 32bit | Re: Cannot Open Port For uTorrent Silly me. The red icon in uTorrent is actually the LISTENING PORT ERROR. Not about PORT. After googling, I found out that the solution is simply to delete the SETTING file, and restart the programme. It worked. I have the GREEN icon now. Thanks. |

| Vista Home 32bit | Re: Cannot Open Port For uTorrent Hi Masplong00, Delete SETTINGS.DAT and SETTINGS.DAT.OLD from the HIDDEN username\AppData\roaming\uTorrent with uTORRENT closed. Please note that you'd have to re-setup some of your settings when you restart uTorrent. Hope it works for you. |
