| | Activating dormant Vista laptop lags network I have a home network set up for 4 computers. Two desktops + one laptop have XP; one laptop has Vista. While using the desktops, my roommate and I will sometimes shift to our laptops to browse the web. His laptop, running XP, has no effect on the network even if it has been idle for a while. My laptop, running Vista, has a much different effect. If my laptop has been sitting idle for a while, when I try to access the internet, every computer on the internet experiences a severe lag spike lasting around 2-3 minutes. Once the network has had its time to settle, I can use the Vista laptop without issue (NOT the same as the consistent Vista spikes referenced in other posts). I tried set priorities in my router for the ip addresses of the desktops but this had no effect on the problem. -- XxDelirium504xX ------------------------------------------------------------------------ XxDelirium504xX's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/124025.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...rk/1230364.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
