| | Wireless Not Working After installing Vista Hello, I have a Gateway MX7515 notebook with a Broadcom wireless adapter. My problem is after installing Windows Vista, attempting to install the broadcom driver crashes my computer. I found the latest driver which is version 4.xxx and installed it. Now when I try to connect to my router, I get the limited or no connectivity statement. Is there a new driver out there for Vista that can fix this. I tried live chatting with Microsoft, Gateway, and emailing Broadcom, but no help. |

| vista ultimate 32bit | Re: Wireless Not Working After installing Vista Hello Guys, Any update on this? I have a similar problem regading my Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter in my Vista. I bought a Lenovo 3000 G430 laptop. At first, I installed Vista Home Premium 32bit. The wifi was working because the light that refers to the wifi is blinking. I installed a different OS on my laptop from Vista HomePremium to Vista Ultimate. Now the wifi has no activity. Or the light is not blinking anymore. i have a wifi router to test but i can not connect. i tried using different device (iPHone) to connect to that router it was working. Any help on this? When I check on my device manager the Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter is listed with no yellow icon. |

| | Re: Wireless Not Working After installing Vista Similar problems for me with Vista. I had to disable IPv6 driver in the network configuration. still have v4 enabled. But I have to reset my router after every time I connect one of my XP comupters through that router and then want to reconnect the Vista laptop. The issue has to do with getting through the router to my DSL conenction for DNS access at AT&T. The simple 10 second router power reset "fixes" the connection. The other computers are not impacted at all. Frustrating. Vista gives little help. "entzoe" wrote: Quote: > > Hello Guys, > > Any update on this? | Vista Ultimate x32 | Re: Wireless Not Working After installing Vista Entzoe, you say that your wifi was working befor you installed Windows Ultimate and now your wifi is not working? Did you click upgrade when u installed Windows Ultimate or did u click Custom and then did a clean copy? If u clicked Custom, u probably wiped out all the preinstalled programs, including the drivers. This happened to me before. Dont click on any website that offers to scan and fix your computer's drivers since they are mainly third party companies trying to get money out of u. instead, try this free altenative. 1. Connect your PC to the internet through LAN, boradband connection, etc. 2. Click on the Start menu. 3. Click on Control Panel. 4. When u the Control Panel menu pops up, type in Device Manager on the search bar at the top right-hand corner of the window. 5. Click continue when a screen pops up asking for your permission to use Device Manager. 6. Click on Network Adapters. 7. Right-click Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter and click Properties. 8. Click the tap Driver and click update driver. 9. Click search automatically for driver software After u update your driver, click on the symbol on the taskbar that looks like two computers with a globe in front of them and click Manage Wireless Networks or anything similar to that. click on the network u want (r wireless router) such as you to connect to it and once it is done connecting, click on save network so that next time u turn on your computer, it automatically searches for that network and any other networks u saved. |
