| | RE: WIndows XP/Vista Networking. Ditto for my fix. I checked the Windows Firewall and it was turned off. I didn't think to check the Norton Internet Security Tab. | | Re: WIndows XP/Vista Networking. My first time to post a reply so don't know all the rules. I could not get a desktop Vista and wireless laptop XP to recogonize each other although both were able to get to the Internet via my router. Downloaded "Network Magic" from networkmagic.com (free 30 day trial period) and installed it on both computers. Program worked! Virtually fool proof. HI first posting and have tried every thing listed and suggested apart from the network magic route, have been trying for 5 days on and off. i can see the pc,s on the network , disabled windows fire and am running mcaffe, vista home basic on laptop and xp pro on the desktop which is connected via a netgear router, internet no problem on both machines all passwords and settins are the same work group both the same. Error code and unable verify network path are the issues that i have apart from purchasing xp pro for my laptop i am really none the wiser and as the name suggets why me!!!! regards and answers eagerly required.
