Accessing Windows 2003 SBS via Vista Business

I just got a new laptop with Vista Business on it. I am having a heck
of a time seeing my Windows 2003 SBS. I have tried wirelessly and
wired and the network finder is not finding my shared drives on the
server. My Windows XP laptop found them by just doing a search/ find
computer. I have tried disabling the firewall on my laptop as well
and that didn't work. I can ping the server by the ip address but not
by the server name. My XP machine is able to ping the server by the
ip address and the server name.

Re: Accessing Windows 2003 SBS via Vista Business

I would check the DNS settings first. Any errors when using nslookup?

Re: Accessing Windows 2003 SBS via Vista Business

nslookup did find my server and I can ping by the server name but I
have to ping servername.name.local rather than just ping servername
