| | print server issues I have a brand new Dell Dimension E-520 with an Intel E4300 @1.8 ghz with 2Gig Ram and 250 Gig HD, running Windows Vista Home Premium. I have set up a home network with my Wife's Inspiron 600m running Windows XP Home. My Router is a Linksys RB-41. I have a Netgear PS121 Printserver with a HP-4+ Laserjet. My Internet is available via Cable Broadband. I have both Version 4 and Version 6 of TCP/IP installed, and there is no conflict. The HP4+ is available to my wife as a network printer, and - as long as the Print Server and the Printer is on, the printer is available to her. In my case, I can only install it as a Local Printer, and shutting down and restarting my computer with the Printer off results in it's being reported to my computer as being offline when I turn it on, even though the HP 4+ always comes up on-line by default. I have to delete the printer and re-install it. How to I fix this problem??? Cornelius Seon |
