    Search For Computers ???

I have spent hours trying to get my Vista Home Premium PC to see my XP
    Professional PC.
The XP machine sees the Vista machine fine, but I can actually search for it
    in XP.
I have set the Workgroup to MSHOME on both PC's & even completely disabled
all of the networking stuff on my Norton NIS.
I have even changed the name under the middle icon in the Network and
    Sharing Center to MSHOME.
Vista just does not see the XP PC.
The search feature in the Network windows just seems to look at the icons
    already displayed.

Is there a similar feater to the Search For Computers wizard in XP.
It finds my other PC's when they dont show up !!!

    Thanks.

The name of the network in the NSC doesn't matter for this. Nor does the
LLTD patch have anything to do with discovering the other PCs.

Make sure that Network Discovery and File Sharing are enabled on the Vista
machine. You'll also need to permit file and print sharing in both
    machine's firewalls.

Make sure that the appropriate firewall ports are open on both computers.
