    remote desktop connecting????

Connecting two home computers across the Internet is also possible. However,
doing this typically requires detailed knowledge of the router configuration,
    port mappings, and IP addresses.

what help is this? a joke!!!

can anyone other than microsoft (for 249.00$) tell me how to do this?

This page has Remote Desktop help, hints, etc. It was written for XP but the
practices are the same for Vista.

Hi Robert. Remote Desktop Connection uses port 3389. To get the IP
addresses, in Network and Sharing Center, click "View status" and then click
    "Details."

We'll need more info on your router configuration to get you going,
    probably.

    Thanks,
    Gloria
