| | RE: unidentified network. Sounds like you might be connecting to a neighbors wireless network. Do you have a wireless router set up with a secure password? Wireless is not free over the airways. You must set up a wireless router or an access point and then secure it with strong WPA password. When you plug into an ethernet port, you are not using wireless at all. It uses your ethernet card instead. Your Vista computer is trying to use the wireless card. Look for help in Network & Sharing Center on the Vista computer or research Wireless Networking on the Vista Help site. Or simply disable the wireless card and use the ethernet connection. You don't say how you connect to the Internet--what kind of broadband modem you have. | | Re: unidentified network. the best solution is to plug the medialounge into the router and not have it directly connected to your PC. if you don't reconfigure this way, when you look at the two network connections on the Vista machine, are they both set to private and is file sharing and media sharing on? What IP addresses are these using? You can avoid these issues by plugging the medialounge into the router.
