| | Internet connection bug? This is driving me nuts. I have two machines on my home network. One running Vista (an upgrade from XP) and one running XP. The Vista machine drops the connection to the internet within 10-20 minutes or so of making the connection. I have to restart the computer to re-establish internet access. Vista says I'm still connected, (sometimes)even though I'm not. I can go to the XP computer and I can connect immediately to the internet. This tells me that it's not my internet modem or my router. It's the Vista computer that it dropping the connection and it appears it must be a software issue. Before I upgraded from XP to Vista, I had steady 24/7 internet access. It is extremely annoying to have to restart my computer every time I want to check email, etc. Question: Does Microsoft acknowledge that a bug exists in Vista where internet communication is concerned? If so, are they doing anything about it? If so, when can we expect a fix to be published? I have been monitoring this newsgroup since I installed Vista and I am not the only person with this problem. I'm seeing post after post with people having the same problem. |
