| | Sharing a folder without having a user account on the PC? Is it possible to access a shared folder without having a user account on the PC, like you could with XP? I thought I had cracked this by turning off passwords, but the email I sent myself (!) said: I have given you permission to access some of my files from any computer on this network. You can access them by clicking the link(s) below. To access these shared files you must have a user account and password for the computer ... -- Nigel M |

| | RE: Sharing a folder without having a user account on the PC? Yes-- Change the access to shared resources in Network & Sharing Center. You can allow anyone on your network or your computer to share files from there by turning on Public Folder Sharing and turning Password Protected Sharing off. I want to share a normal one. -- Nigel M |
