can't connect to vista on lan

Vista is so much harder to use for filesharing then any other OS. i can't
connect to it or see it on my lan. my xbox won't see it at all. works fine
in xp pro sp2 etc. i have gone to right click on drive and share with all
full permissions. network and sharing center i have disabled password needed
and enabled full sharing there too and still can't see it at all.

i don't get it.

i also have another pc from dell and it's network is called MSHOME. i can't
connect to it or see it frommy xbox now that i am on one other pc booted
into vista. if i reboot into xp on the vista pc then my xbox can see both
the xp pc as workgroup and mshome for the dell pc.

i really need some help if people can help me ou9t please. i'd totally
appreciate it. yes i am the admin on all systems etc.

Re: can't connect to vista on lan

Hi AMDX2, make sure you have network discovery, file sharing, printer
sharing, etc. turned on in Network and Sharing Center (in Control Panel).

Also, for best results the computers should all be in the same workgroup.

For more about file and printer sharing in Vista, see
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/net.../vista_fp.mspx

Thanks,
Gloria

i already said that i do. nothing works. if i reboot pc into xp then all pcs
show. if i am in vista, even my other xp pc won't show. i don't see why this
matters. they are not connected in anyway to one another. meaning both are
totally different pcs. one should have nothing to do with the other. there's
nothing in one pc to make the other not work. so this is effing weird!!
