Vista - TCP/IP problems in Vista - with WIRELESS

Hi all,

I think this is a bit old hat but it may still help people. As title, TCP/IP
problems running Vista on a 1 month old Sony G11.

I help run a Wireless ISP (WISP) and both login to the WISP from several
locations getting IP by DHCP, but also use static IP addresses from my main
office. The reason for the static IPs is to access different routes through
the network (different phsical wireless routes to test and assess
performance). TO make it clear I access via wireless into my initial
router..For instance;

Addresses 192.168.2.0 to 192.168.2.127 with GW 192.168.2.10 goes via an
ordinary aDSL phone line

Addresses 192.168.2.128 to 192.168.2.255 with GW 192.168.2.10 goes one route
via wireless (excluding those below)

Addresses 192.168.2.210, .211, .212, .213, .214 with GW 192.168.2.10 goes
via a second wireless route

Finally 192.168.2.x with GW 192.168.2.1 goes via a THIRD route.

The point of all these different IPs is so I can test several backhaul
customer traffic routes by simply changing my personal IP. Various specialist
wireless routers do the routing based on the IPs (Mikrotik and Star-OS)

Sorry if this seems a bit waffly but I am getting to the point. With XPpro
and x64, this works FINE. I change IP and my data goes any way I want. The IP
changes no problems, and I can DHCP as well.

NOW the point - with VISTA on my laptop;

a) I can set a static IP and go one route
b) When I change the static IP sometimes the old IP is retained and does not
change.
c) If I change to a third static IP confusion reigns and I get THREE IPs,
and often the first is the IP that is used
d) If I connect DHCP to an access point (with the laptop out in the network
in the town), sometimes I get a DHCP address but not with all AP routers.. If
I know the static IP range I can access using the appropriate static range
e) If I then change back to static IP to deliberately route a particular way
from my office, sometimes I get a single IP but sometimes I get a whole set
of three or more IPs..

Sorry if this is a bit convoluted, but it shows Vista is doing something
wierd with Wireless IPs.
I have read others have similar problems, but I wonder if anyone knows how
to flush out all the old static IPs and how to *reliably* change IP.
