Wireless lost after sleep

I've this laptop -
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/product.php...AH%20MARKETING

When it comes out of sleep it doesn't reconnect to the internet via my
wireless hub, but it does get what it calls a "local only" connection. So I
have to click on disconnect and then connect to get the net back. Works fine
on restart, but not after sleep.

Could it be something with my hub?

Any ideas?

Thanks Robert - I tried unchecking the first option in power management for the wireless card - but I still have same problem...

Re: Wireless lost after sleep

Solution seems to be that I disable my (unused) ethernet adaptor.

Re: Wireless lost after sleep

Thank you for the feedback. Can we assume you have two connection, one is wired and another is wireless?

Re: Wireless lost after sleep

Yes I can connect to my broadband hub via ethernet as well as wireless, but I tend to just use the wireless, so disabling the ethernet adaptor is fine for now - I could always enable it again if I need to. Not sure why this is an issue - perhaps the ethernet card was taking some sort of priority over the wireless card?

Re: Wireless lost after sleep

I have this same problem.
Dell Inspiron E1505

All new drivers. My wireless router is new. It is the one Dell recommnended.
I followed Microsoft's solution for power management.

The thing just does not reconnect properly after waking from sleep.

If I click "diagnose" under "Wireless Network Connection Status" It almost
always reconnects.

I am pretty confidant nothing is wrong with my settings, I just think
something screwy happens with Vista when the computer wakes from sleep.

This really ought to be fixed.
