| | cannot add Windows vista Business computer to domain I am unable to add the company's new computer to the domain. I attempt to use the netwrok ID wizard, however, i continue to get an error after the 3rd screen. The error is: "your computer could not be joined to the domain because the following error has occurred: An attampt to resolve the DNS name of a DC in the domain being joined has failed. Please verify this client is configured to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain." Any help or advisement would be highly appreciated |

It should be pointing to an Active Directory DNS server and no other ones. -- Kerry Brown Microsoft MVP - Shell/User http://www.vistahelp.ca "bradley" <bradley@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7BB501BD-D19E-4A1F-87DD-2B66960AD274@microsoft.com... | | Re: cannot add Windows vista Business computer to domain I had the exact same problem. What I did was the following: Quote: > Opened the TCP/IP Properties of my network adaptor > Under "Use the following DNS server addresses" enter the IP address Now when you try to add the Windows Vista machine it should work. -- dgobat ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dgobat's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/124487.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...ork/761207.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
