| | Home Network I have three computers on my home network sharing files, etc. I have loaded Windows Vista on an old computer that used to have Windows XP. Before I installed Windows Vista I made shure that the hardware and connections were working correctly. I connected to the network with the computer I name RESEARCH. I am able to access the internet and download files, read my Hotmail, etc. I can not see the other computers on the network. I have created a folder and shared with the Public to be able to Write. From my ohter computer I can see the RESEARCH computer, but I have NO ACCESS to the files or Properties of the share. I have noticed that many others in this newgroup appeared to have the same problem. If anybody can figure this out, please share it us. Of course, it could be that at this time the development team has not included those modules in Vista. |

| | RE: Home Network Ok, I have managed to fix things so that I can see my other PC's on the RESEARCH computer. However, when I try to Explore another computer on the network I receive the following message: Verify you Firewall Settings The setting for a rule must be changed if you want to allow this traffic. Policy Owner: Windows Firewall Filter Name: Port Scanning Prevention Filter Filter ID: 72046 Now all I need is to figure out how and what to change. Anybody out there knows what this means?
