only 1 way connection between vista and xp machine?

I recently bought a laptop running Vista. My desktop is running XP. Both are
connected to the internet ok, through a linksys wireless router (well XP uses
cable, laptop uses wireless). I enabled file/printer sharing on the xp and
laptop and shared a folder on each. On the XP box I can see the vista laptop
machine and access the shared folder no problem using a user name + password.
However on the vista laptop I am unable to see the xp machine or view it's
    shared folder.
Firewalls are turned off + workgroup names are the same.
I checked the router, it assigns IPs:
    XP machine: x.x.x.101
    Vista laptop: x.x.x.102
From XP I can ping x.102. From Vista if I try and ping the XP box I get the
    "connection timed out".
Any help would be most appreciated.

After doing a bit more searching I figured out what the problem was - I
needed to install the LLTD upgrade on the XP box and it is working now.

You need download LLTD from the MS. This post may help.

Info: Vista can't see XP on ...After installing the LLTD Responder component
on the XP machine, one vista pc could see the shared folders on the xp
machine and the xp machine could see ...
