| | Vista in XP home network I have a home network based on wireless modem/router with 3 win xp computers and network printer. My network works properly, every computer has internet access, can use my printer. Lastly I tried to connect a vista laptop but without any success and I have completely no idea what is wrong. When I connect to the router status of the connectivity is "connected with limited access". I can browse the internet but there is no connectivity to the network. I already tried cable connectivity (vista - router), no network at all. it may be a problem with my router (Philips) which is not "compatible" with vista. I tried as well to directly connect xp and vista laptops, they can't see each other. It worked before with 2 XPs. Any ideas? |

If you're getting "Limited or no connectivity" from a Vista computer connected by Ethernet, but not from XP computers, you need to check your DHCP client. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/12/windows-xp-and-vista-on-lan-together.html#Connectivity> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/1...l#Connectivity If the problem goes away when connected by Ethernet, then you need to check the Vista WiFi client. Just start by narrowing down the diagnosis. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/08/solving-network-problems-tutorial.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0...-tutorial.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
