    RPC server unavaileble

    Hi.
I am getting quite desperate and pulling the little hair i have left as i
have now had this eror message for a few weeks and simply cant find a
solution I have 2 PC one is running Vista Ultima registrated, i will call new
PC(64bit) and the other Vista Ultima trial base(32bit) i will call old PC. I
can share my folders from Old PC in network sharing but when i try to share
folders from new PC i get an error that RPC server is unavalible. I can see
the computers from both PC,s in the network map but i cant open any shared
folders. I have tryed "netsh winsock reset" and "netsh int ip reset" but the
same result. When i installed Vista in the beginning it worked and i could
share but over time i have installed different programs and i did not notice
that the sharing got a problem so i dont know to what restore point i could
go. I hope that i will find help here and a solution to the problem. I have
been thinking on reinstaling Vista again but i think i will than need to
reinstall all programs and games again, is there a way to re-install Vista or
to repair the instalation and network? If you need any info please ask, any
    help is appriciated.
    Thanks.

    Re: RPC server unavaileble

Based on MS article, this issue can occur for any of the following reasons: • The RPC service may not be started.
    • You are unable to resolve a DNS or NetBIOS name.
    • An RPC channel cannot be established.

Can you ping each other by IP? if yes, can you ping it by name?

In this case, delete the old map and re-map it. Please post back with the result.
