"A required network component is not working properly . . . "

.. . . on this computer."

Hi . . .just received this message just followed by the following note:

Remove the malfunctioning network component.
Warning: The application that installed this component might not work
properly after the component is removed. (Cheery note!)

Suggestions, recommendations, updates?

Thanks.

Re: "A required network component is not working properly . . . "

first, reboot your computer. does the problem clear or does it
reoccur?

if this persists, did you recently install any programs or updates?
(including anti virus updates).

if yes, can you try a system restore to a point before this started?

need more information for more trouble shooting (check event logs,
etc.)

Re: "A required network component is not working properly . . . "

Barb,

Rebooted. Am traveling, staying with friends. Had started to do things like
clear history and cookies; simply was unable to connect. At that point my
girl friend's computer was not connecting either. We finally figured out
that Charter Communications was having issues at their end rather than my
computer individually. Thanks for your helpful response. Kelvie
