| | My cure for Vista home networking problems Haven't been able to connect to two other computers on home network since installing Vista. Have double-checked network settings over and over, experimented with everything in Windows Firewall, etc, etc. Finally went to Tools > Internet Options in Internet Explorer > Security and unchecked Enable Protected Mode under Local intranet. Also set Security level for this zone to Low. Can now connect to other computers for file sharing. Oh joy!! Now if I could find a printer that worked... |

| | RE: My cure for Vista home networking problems If you can find a HP Deskjet 720C connected by paralell cable Vista will pick it up and install the drivers automatically. -- Ghost "Michael Styles" wrote: > > Haven't been able to connect to two other computers on home network since > installing Vista. | | RE: My cure for Vista home networking problems If you can get hold of a HP Deskjet 720C Vista will find it and install it no problem. I know it's an old one but it works for me. -- Ghost "Michael Styles" wrote: > > Haven't been able to connect to two other computers on home network since > installing Vista. | | Re: My cure for Vista home networking problems Just put your printer on a different PC on your network and you should be able to print from there. -- Dilly itsdilly@comcast.net http://home.comcast.net/~itsdilly/ http://community.webshots.com/user/savalier People will forget what you said. | | RE: My cure for Vista home networking problems Oddly, Vista solved that exact problem for me; couldn't get XP to see other machines on my home network for beans. With Vista, it's all good. I may see if that setting is in XP; hopefully it will help. As for a printer, my Canon iP4000 Pixma was installed flawlessly by Vista.
