Vista connection folder through network

I use Vista nad the first time I connected to a folder on a computer with 98,
it only required the password and I connected successfully. then the password
on the 98 computer was changed and when I try to connect with the new
password, I am prompted for the user name which Idon't have. I've tried the
name of this computer on the network or the folder name but I cannot connect.
Xp to 98 I had no problems connecting after a password change.
Please help my.
