Wifi lag

When I ping my router, every 58th packet takes around 3000ms to get back. I
heard its because windows is looking for new networks. Its a desktop computer
and I dont care for other networks, only care for a good ping. Ive seen a fix
that supposedly disables wifi autoconfig, but it didnt solve the problem. Any
ideas how to solve it? A config window i havent seen yet or a reg key to
change?

OS: x64 Vista Business
Wifi: Asus WL-167g

RE: Wifi lag

I have the same problem. I am using a USB wifi adaptor from x-micro.
Testing this by pinging my router, at set intervals I get huge ping.

So far I have managed to get a random fix by resetting the Wireless service
in command line, however it is not reliable, and I still get huge spikes of
loss in online games every minute, surrounded by perfect performance.

All fixes I have found for this problem are for XP, not Vista, and as you
say you cannot disable the Windows Configurator in Vista without losing the
connection.

HELP SOMEONE! Is there a way to disable the windows wireless config from
checking for other networks? I beleive that is what is happening.

RE: Wifi lag

Thanks for the advice, but it doesnt seem to work for my wifi adapter. Guess
the best bet would be to wait for a new version of this program.

I couldnt answer earlier because my motherboard stoped working and just now
got a new one.
