Notification for a leased IP Address

Hi:

Is it possible to get a notification when an IP address is renewed?

I have an Internet connection through a cable modem and it uses dynamic IP
addresses. I would like to know if it's possible to write some scripting code
or even something that uses C++ to get a notification when the IP address is
renewed each time.

Thanks.
