I have previously connected to wireless internets at my friends' houses but
cannot connect now that I am at home. I have never connected at home. However, I have two other computers that are running XP that are able to connect. I have Vista on my laptop. The computer reads that there is excellent strength but when I try to connect it says it is unable to because of low connectivity. I have read their suggestions and have done them all. I still can't connect. I am usually pretty good with computers as a lay person but this really stumps me. Please help. |

You might want to try [microsoft. public. windows. networking. wireless]. Or check with the vendor, and see if they are still working on an updated driver for Vista. <http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups/reader.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.networking.wireless> http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e...rking.wireless With wireless, the adapter could be reporting high signal strength, but high noise too. Can you run NetStumbler on a non-Vista computer, and see what the SNR is? <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/06/analyse-your-wifi-environment.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/0...vironment.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
