Vista Networking Problem

I have a Vista Laptop and a Vista Desktop.

I would like to share my 'Public' folder from each computer on the network,
ie on the desktop so I can access public files from the desktop, and on the
laptop, so that on the desktop I can access the public folder on my laptop.

At the moment, my desktop computer can access the 'Public' folder of my
laptop through the wireless network, however my laptop cannot view the folder
from my desktop.

Clicking on 'Network' from my desktop, it comes up with my modem, the laptop
and the desktop itself, all of which I can click and go on to view the
'Public' folder and printers. Clicking on 'Network' from my laptop however,
it comes up with the laptop, the desktop and the modem, all clickable except
the desktop, which is says it cannot find on the network.

The only difference between the two computers I have noticed is that, when
single-clicking on the laptop on 'Network', in the 'Details Pane' it says
'Network Location', whereas on the laptop, on 'Network', Clicking the desktop
it does not have this information.

Thanks for you help in advance =)

Re: Vista Networking Problem

It may be computer browser issue. On both computers, if you do "net view", What do you see?

Re: Vista Networking Problem

OK - on my laptop, a black box flashed up and went away, but on my desktop it
stayed there with nothing on it but a flashing underscore.
