If you're talking about the Interent Explorer Event log the only use that I have
seen of it is with the Application Compatibility Toolkit. However, I don't use
Vista so it's possible that it has wider use in it.

Otherwise, a more conventional way to diagnose this symptom would be
to use a trace, e.g. either netcap or Fiddler2. Also, you might not even
need to go that far if your "redirect" is implemented in HTML, in which case
you could just use View Source or a Script Debugger to see it.
