| | Windows Vista does not automatically connect to wireless So I just got a new vista laptop and every time I shut down and restart I have to manually connect to my wireless network. I have it set to automatically connect and it looks like it's trying when it first boots up; but than it doesn't connect. When I go to it, I can connect right away manually; but I just don't understand why it won't connect on its own. Are there any other settings I need to play around with? Thanks |

| | RE: Windows Vista does not automatically connect to wireless Hello soia2244, If you can change to WPA, you should do it. WEP is cracked a long time ago. | | RE: Windows Vista does not automatically connect to wireless I've been having the same problem (Vista does not automatically connect to wireless). Changing to WPA will not fix this problem. I've had this problem with my WEP-secured network at home and my unsecured network at work. I am using Vista Ultimate on a Gateway M285-E with a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection. Does anyone have a suggestion? "Meinolf Weber (Myweb)" wrote: Quote: > Hello soia2244, > > If you can change to WPA, you should do it. | Vista Home Premium | Re: Windows Vista does not automatically connect to wireless I have the same problem too. When my computer goes to sleep and it comes back, or even sometimes when my computer has been on for a while and idling, there is no wireless network connection and I have to go to "Diagnose and Repair" I have to do this at least once a day and I don't understand why Vista won't automatically reconnect when it drops the connection. I didn't have these problems with my XP wireless and nothing about the reception or networking hardware has changed. |
