Vista, ICS and a PS2

Ok, something is FUBAR with Vista, Wireless networking and a PS2
I constantly get "connected with limited connectivity" while in the obove
situation.
Running through a wireless router with NO security OTHER than mac address
only.
I get piss poor lag while trying to play games.

I can be connected at 54mbps, and as soon as the PS2 connects it drops
between 18-11mbps.
after about 30minutes or so, the dreaded "connected with limited
connectivity".
I have tried two different routers and the same thing, so that tells me it
it freakin Vista.

any ideas?
