Re: Vista SP1 RC through Windows Update!

It will probably be longer than 2 hours. I uninstalled through windows and got the SP1RC_WUHack for installation.

Re: Vista SP1 RC through Windows Update!

You will be doing this for about 6 hours or so, you will get about 3 big downloads with the last being SP1, you'll think that each one is SP1 as I did, but you'd be wrong. It seems like you can't just get the last download, you have to wait a while. I've had 2 computers return WU errors when I tried to get the final DL too soon. Don't be concerned with the error just DL it later.

Re: Vista SP1 RC through Windows Update!

It's kind of interesting. The 1.73Ghz mobile Pentium laptop loaded DL's wirelessly and slowly, but given the delay at the end, which is probably due to demand more than anything else, ends up being as quickly updated as the QX6700.

Re: Vista SP1 RC through Windows Update!

ahh...well wats the difference with the standalone? and how long does it approx. take for the last update to pop up..never mind its loading up now

kind of too late....i already started with the other one

Download details: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 RC Public Availability Program

anyways its the same thing right? just without the WU?

Re: Vista SP1 RC through Windows Update!

It's the same thing, just in one easy to install package.
