Re: SP1 FINAL (oem partner download)..

I used the text above to create a cmd file to make a new reg key. A few minutes later I saw the update for Vista service pack 1. After a process that took the better part of an hour, everything installed. Everything seems to be great, except for a couple of things.

1) Kaspersky went crazy telling me that various files had changed. I kept clicking allow change and after several reboots I haven't received any more complaints from Kaspersky.

But what I am really worried about is:

2) In the update log, when you click on details for Vista SP1 it says that is a beta in the description.

So my questions are these:

1) Did I install the RTM, or the beta?
2) If the beta I installed was the exact same as the RTM, why does it say beta in the description?
3) If the update is designated as a "beta", will I have to uninstall it and install the "real" version next month, even though the bits are the same?
4) If the update that is designated as the beta is the RTM, is there any way to change the description so that the beta references are removed? (I'm only worried about this for potential support issues down the road - I don't want a tech rep telling me that he can't support "beta" products or that my license is invalid).
5) If the update is designated as a "beta", is there a time-bomb that will require me to uninstall at a future date?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: SP1 FINAL (oem partner download)..

if I view the details, you see that it's a beta

So is this the final version or a beta?????
and also the capture image below shows that the size is only 121,5 MB

Re: SP1 FINAL (oem partner download)..

There's no way Vista SP1 is 66MB , or even 121MB...it's a lil more than that ...say 500MB+
I downloaded and installed from a torrent 1.13GB FINAL SP1 X86 and X64 bit , so you see, it has to be larger.
Hope that helps
