Re: IE8 Beta1 Launched

It's something I've always wondered about. Something about how MS puts together a product somehow feels better to some people (me, for instance).

I always hated Firefox. It somehow always felt too noisy, with too many features I didn't want to use and customizability that didn't really satisfy me. But, when IE7 came out, I installed it and loved it (even though everyone described it as a bad implementation of Firefox).

There's just something about the computing experience that makes it better to the average user in most cases. I guess it's silly stuff like Aero Glass. It seems like a waste to some, but to many it is a nice little feature that makes it a more aesthetically pleasing experience, which makes you in turn feel better about what you are doing. So what if it isn't perfect? You're enjoying what you're doing.

Re: IE8 Beta1 Launched

I like the way IE8 is heading, but I cannot use it for now. I just cannot get it to allign properly when I'm trying to highlight items on a webpage. Heck, I even have problems in one of the post editing modes with highlighting and using the tool buttons. I uninstalled it and went back to IE7. I'll try the next beta release.

Re: IE8 Beta1 Launched

For me, I'll be waiting a while before jumping in the IE8 bandwagon. I've got a stable system running and since IE is integrated into so many things, I'll just wait until the dust settles and IE8 is a smoother operating program.

Re: IE8 Beta1 Launched

The only issue I've run into I had to download something and the little "download now" button was missing on the page so I clicked the Emulate IE7 and restart IE to be able to click on the link.

Hehe i'm not working for Microsoft to trace and feedback bugs, if that was open source could be a different story, but we all know how M$ uses our personal info. They have too many employee for tests and need just to browse 2-3 hours to see how messy IE8 handles some web pages.

Re: IE8 Beta1 Launched

Hi everyone,
I just installed I.E. 8 on XP Pro SP2. First thing I noticed is I can highlight on webpages but it has a delay. I also see typing in info into a website has a delay. Not good. I really don't care how it looks but it has got to work correctly. Specially when supporting 600+ users like myself. Firefox bugs me because when I want to highlight a few characters, it wants to highlight much more. Oh well I will still with I.E. 7 on my vista machine at home for now.
