| Member | Re: SP1 Public Download Now Available After about 15 pages on this subject I feel we will have at least 15 more. Question, I have been havinging trouble with IE7 loading at the same speed as before SP1. After clicking on the icon the screen appears and then there is about 5 or 6 clicking sounds and it's ready to rock. I have increased my internet or connection speed to 1.5 and that soved the video problem but not the loading. Ran the IE without addons and it loaded 50% faster. I have 2.00 GB RAM and processor is AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core @4200+ 2.20GHz. Any suggestions? Thanks. NOTE: Disk is at 20% used 80% free. |

| Junior Member | Re: SP1 Public Download Now Available DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD IF YOU ARE UPDATING JUST ONE COMPUTER: A smaller, more appropriate download is available on Windows Update. The Windows Update download file is only 7.4mb, if you download the full five language version, its like 750mb. |

| Resistance is Futile | Re: SP1 Public Download Now Available Basically, if you where to perform a fresh install of Windows Vista, then the SP1 download would be closer to the 600-700MB mark. The option of downloading the single package (as opposed to using Windows Update), is that you can download it once, and then apply SP1 to as many computers as required. And, if you are a single-pc user, then downloading the single package once will allow you to apply SP1 over again whenver needed, without having to download it again. Either way, the single download is the better solution. |

| Junior Member | Re: SP1 Public Download Now Available hey guys my sp1 has come through for me to download and install. Im a bit concerned of the size of the update. 65mb - 427mb What i want to know is do i really need to install all of it or do i have no option. the reason i ask is because i only use my computer for the internet and storing photos and music! i really dont use my laptop to its full potential. does it make a difference. thanks |

| Resistance is Futile | Re: SP1 Public Download Now Available But as z3r010 said, you really should install SP1. It includes all the updates of the past year or so, and fixes some nasty bugs in addition to improving the overall performance and reliability. |

| The Contemplator | Re: SP1 Public Download Now Available I agree with both John and Peter. If you are using the 32-bit version of Vista and have Office 2007, then, as a bonus, both the full standalone service packs for both these products will fit on a single 700MB CD. For the 64-bit versions, you will need to use a DVD as the files are larger. Dwarf |

| ɠɛɐǨ | Re: SP1 Public Download Now Available Oddly enough the 32bit ISO is just over a gig bigger than the 64bit ISO image...Yet the X64-SP1 update is larger than the X32-SP1 update image... |
