Vista - Firefox Guinness World Record

Fx 3 seemed slow??? wow.

I use Fx 3 with 54 extensions and it *still* loads faster than IE 7 and renders pages at the same speed (or very very close) as Opera.

I have no idea why it was slow to you but it loaded almost instantaneous for me without any extensions.

Same for Thunderbird 3 a1 - I click it and it is up within a second.

Only downside to minefeild is no Flash support.

Theres none in IE7 X64 either. And you can run minefeild without installing it.

FF is fantastic.

IE just works best for me.

Yeah it takes about 10 seconds for Firefox 3 to load up for me. Minefield is practically instantaneous.

OK, Frozen - 1 very important question - did you use your old 2.x profile with 3.x or start with a brand new profile?

If you're using a default blank profile and Fx 3 is taking 10 seconds to load your OS (or something!) has major issues.

Now, in spite of this, Fx 3 is slow compared to Minefield - it takes under a second to load Minefield with a new profile, compared with 1-2 for Fx....but you should *not* be seeing 10- seconds on load. Like I said, even with my ht54 addons it takes less time than IE.

It's a brand new profile. This install of Vista has only had Firefox 3. I should point out that I never had this delay using Vista x86, it's just since I moved to x64 that it's started happening.

that is weird. Did it default the installation to Program Files (X86) like it should have?

Then you my friend have a screwy Fx 3 lol. Oh well - at least you can use bleeding edge tech using MineField....

Which, I might add,I am very tempted to try.....
