| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Is More Memory Better? I run with 2 x 2 GB (4GB) of Dual Channel DDR2 1066 Mhz (PC2-8500) Patriot sticks and my system runs great with them. I do not need 8GB, but if prices get even lower, I may just grap some to fill the motherboad. ![]() Shawn |

| Vista X64 Ultimate | Re: Is More Memory Better? When I bought my 8GB's of ram, it was cheap enough where I couldn't resist, figuring heck with it, ram is this cheap, I may as well get it, and not bother doing a major upgrade of my computer for at least another couple of years. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Is More Memory Better? For a new system you may as well load it up. 4GB of quality RAM is about $90 and frequently has some kind of rebate. Tack on another 4GB for an extra $90 and load that new gaming rig up. Vista x64 will find uses for all of it. I was kinda shocked only a few days after I built my 8GB rig Vista cached ALL of it. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1.... | Re: Is More Memory Better? Check your BIOS and make sure the RAM is running at PC6400 - and also realize that you'll most likely want to increase the cooling on your Northbridge because 4 sticks of RAM, and especially DDR, will put a lot more stress (exponentially rather than arithmetically) then 2 sticks. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Is More Memory Better? Hi, I run 4Gb DDR3-1333 Mhz and all is working fast and fine until today. I used to run Vista 32bit version and Windows Performance Values was still at 5,6 about RAM. Now is 5,5. Ain't it strange? |

| VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: Is More Memory Better? There was an article a couple of months back in the UK Official Vista Mag. about WEI scores - they mentioned some readers getting lower scores using 4 slots rather than 2 . ( I assume they were talking about "value " RAM 4X1gb vs. 2X2gb ) - go figure . SIW2 |
