Firefox 3.01 Released

v3.0.1, released July 16, 2008
  • Fixed several security issues.
  • Fixed several stability issues.
  • Fixed an issue where the phishing and malware database did not update on first launch.
  • Under certain circumstances, Firefox 3.0 did not properly save the SSL certificate exceptions list.

Re: Firefox 3.01 Released

Didn't really have any issues with Firefox 3.0 (in x86 anyway), but I love to have all my software updated.

Re: Firefox 3.01 Released

I think we've all found out that's one advantage to open source software.
It's not just one little group working on it, but the best programmers from around the world.

I've been real happy with Firefox, since the earliest Beta version I installed.
It's never crashed on me or left me stranded.

A really great little program!

Re: Firefox 3.01 Released

I have been using Firefox since version 1.0,and as stated,it is Open Source, and has many skilled coders working on it.Plus if/when,"general public" complain about any aspect of it not working correctly,a fix is very quickly released.

Re: Firefox 3.01 Released

I love Fx for its versatility. I have many people who keep badgering me about Opera being the best browser out there - but if Opera were as extensible as Fx I'd be using Opera. There are so many things that I can do so much more easily in Fx that I carry it with me where I go. Thanks to extensions like Weave I carry my BMs and history etc wherever I go as well. And I don't mean on a laptop....

But, as far as crashing goes, I have crashed Fx numerous times - version 1.5 broke many 1.0.0.x extensions, version 2 broke many version 1.5.0.x extensions , Vista broke version 2, version 2 tried (but failed) to break Vista, and version 3 and SiteHound don't play nicely yet.

I have probably had ~200 error reports, mostly without using my email address for submission as the issue was a known problem that I was trying to work around anyway....

Re: Firefox 3.01 Released

I personally won't even use Firefox, it mess up the software for my Microsoft Multimedia keyboard to the point, I have to remove said software, and reinstall, to straighten out the settings for the multimedia keys.

Firefox is a great browser, and to my knowledge the bug I mention hasn't even been fixed.

Re: Firefox 3.01 Released

Which keys did it mess up? Because Fx is not supposed to touch those settings, and *especially* if you are running Intellipoint....but Intellipoint *does* change things on its own when it detects that you change your default browser.....
