Re: Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Now Available

Hi JohnG,

The 64 bit download covers both of them for the 64 bit Vista.

Or can that even be done?

JohnG,

You only need to downlaod the X32 version if you have 32bit and only the X64 version if you have 64bit, Since 64bit has both X32 and X64 the 64bit version will install both

Re: Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Now Available

I'm wondering about that myself, if I need to install both or if the 64bit version will take care of both.

Oops, Brink, didn't see your post until after I made my post.

Re: Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Now Available

Thanks, guys, I wasn't sure - most things 64bit that I install don't run both 64bit and 32bit SxS so I have not really run into this issue so far....

Re: Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Now Available

I'm hoping that with IE8 on Vista, that Adobe will get the lead out and put out a 64bit Flash and 64bit Shockwave Player, and then I can finally use 64bit IE exclusively.

Re: Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Now Available

I downloaded the x86 vs for my laptop and the 64 for my desktop. Don't know if there is any difference but if you have vista 64 bit why would you want to download the x86 vs. I have both vs. 86 on laptop and 64 on desktop.

Edit:- googlebar now working.

This version is awsome, Loving the speed and new tab coloured design plus the many, many other enhancements The favorites bar looks ugly but does have a few very interesting features though the Addressbar feature is another great aswome addition

Truely good release over any currenty released Internet Explorer... Cheers Microsoft
