| Vista Ultimate x64 | Microsoft gives Windows XP six more months In April, Microsoft extended the life of Windows XP Home by two years for budget laptops. In June, the software giant did the same for ULCPCs as its partners continued to report strong demand. Now Microsoft is making another extension, this one affecting a much less specific market; the software giant has decided to halt XP Professional media shipments to major computer makers (system builders are not included) not on January 31, 2009, but instead on July 31. | Vista Home Premium x86 | Re: Microsoft gives Windows XP six more months Keep the punters happy, and hope that Windows 7 "blows everyone's socks off" I still use XP on my desktop, but Vista on my laptop.Wont "upgrade" my desktop to Vista, but "may" to Windows 7.If it is simular to Vista, wont bother to upgrade my laptop. But if the cosmetics are "must have-under the hood",then I probably will.Or wait for Windows 8. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: Microsoft gives Windows XP six more months XP is too entrenched so just give up support anyway. My main PC and laptop have Vista installed. My older machines have XP installed because Vista simply will not run efficiently on them. Many people are still using older machines that cannot run Vista on there anyway. |
