Check Point to Celebrate 15th Anniversary by Giving Away ZoneAlarm Pro Software

Given the widespread availability of free solutions, we know how power users hate to pay for security software. If you fall into this category, your options will become slightly more robust this Tuesday, November 18.

According to a spattering of reports, a company spokeswoman for Check Point said the company plans to celebrate its 15th anniversary by giving away a 1-year subscription to its ZoneAlarm Pro software security suite. For those not familiar with the program, ZoneAlarm Pro expands on the company's popular firewall solution by throwing in a spyware remover, protection against rootkits, ID theft protection, and other security odds and ends. The full program typically sells for $40/year.

If the reports hold true, you can download your copy from this link beginning at 6:00 AM US PDT time (8 AM Central) Tuesday morning. Procrastinators be warned, the link will only stay active for 24 hours.

Funny thing is I stopped using ZA and bought a 2 year license for Online Armor but then I got Vista in July and OA didn't have a Vista version fully ready so I just went with the Vista firewall and even though they now have the Vista version I just haven't got around to putting it on here, just call me chicken don't want to mess things up

Yeah, poor Zone Alarm (firewall) had a slow start with being compatible with Vista in the beginning.

yeah I have not used any software like this since switching to Vista.

While this is a good deal I just don't really plan on using it or needing it... I will pass

Whats the story with them now brink? How do the compare to Avast?
