I just went to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../download.aspx and went through the motions and got the downloader starting in no time at all.
I already have it so cancelled, but at least I can tell you it is working OK.
And yes, you CAN get Windows 7 RC from Microsoft.com.

Actuall i tried it yesterday and it didnt work. Good to know that its working now.

i downloaded it today from there just fine, they even gave me another key fromt he previous betas i had

Just finished downloading now

Going to install over weekend and try out.
Just one question...I have a hd with 2 partitions, I have vista on one and if I install W7 on the another is it easy to remove afterwards? I know about setting the default operating system on boot up from within vista but if I install W7 how do I get the boot options back to normal once I remove it? Sorry does that make sense? I dont know the correct terminology! lol

Yes, you can easily format the Win 7 partition whilst signed into the Vista one.
That's probably the most foolproof way.

Make it easy to change the boot settings. Install EasyBCD on the Vista partition.

Make it easy to boot directly between OS's: iReboot
(Install on both)

yeah, in some cases it won't work if you try to connect to certain MS links with FF, unless you have the IE tab addon in FF.
