Re: Vista SP2 is out

The upgrade didn't work for me, but not for the reason above. After going through most of the install process, it started trying to boot (I think). It was listing a running total of files and hung up on 4317/44999, partial name given was ---ire-blackbox-dri---. This left me with an unbootable system. My way out was to do a complete restore of the drive partition from last night. I'm now back working with SP1, as before.

Re: Vista SP2 is out

Thanks for posting. As always I'm a fan of downloading directly from MSFT, so if you're thinking of going the Torrent route, I'd just suggest taking the time and downloading directly from MSFT. You never know what's out there.

Cheers,

Re: Vista SP2 is out

i think that it's better to install SP2 to fresh installation of Vista SP1 ... i think this may solve a lot of problems as it will be on a new installation of vista ...

Re: Vista SP2 is out

Installed SP2 and havent noticed any difference except this:

Service Pack 1 reboot time
Name: Boot-Time.png
Views: 867
Size: 78.9 KB

Service Pack 2 reboot time
Name: Capture.JPG
Views: 868
Size: 19.3 KB

After installing i defragged the page file, metadata, registry, and both partititions fully. So so far im not impressed

Re: Vista SP2 is out

I just went to Windows Update and it told me there was one optional update and that was Windows Essentials. Why did it not mention the SP2 Service Pack for Vista.

Also I don't know that I should Download the Sp2. I am afraid of messing things up and I don't have problems yet . So maybe I should leave well enough alone.
