Re: Microsoft announces free antivirus, limited public beta

I wonder how many "takers " from this forum will "jump at" the public beta testing, when it become available.
Keep us posted Slimy.
Thank again.

I might..... Beta Security programs might cause problems. Though I have another AV on here, so I will probably try it.

I've beta tested a couple of progs before. The associated glitches can be frustrating. [or even fun at times, in a head banging way!]
Either way it's always a good learning curve.
Depending on time constraints I may give it a try too.

Re: Microsoft announces free antivirus, limited public beta

This may seem like a stupid question. But why not simply merge the AV & windows defender & have them install as part of the windows installation.

Also why didnt MS take the firewall from onecare & use it instead of the default windows firewall? Simply having an antivirus app is not enough any more.

Re: Microsoft announces free antivirus, limited public beta

Quick question: I just installed Morro AV and uninstalled NOD32. Do you guys think that i should also run NOD32 along with Morro(as its just a Beta version)?
P.S.: Besides, i run spybot and malwarebytes.

Thanks for the reply Slimy. I will try Morro for a week. Lets see how it outperforms other AV.
