New Internet Explorer TV Spot in 2.5D

If you caught the premiers of White Collar and Covert Affairs this week, you probably noticed we just released a new version of the Internet Explorer TV commercial celebrating the beauty of the web.

This newest spot continues to feature the work of Keith Rivers, a Seattle-based filmmaker, and Alex Clare, a British singer-songwriter, whose music has absolutely skyrocketed in popularity since the release of the first ad featuring “Too Close.” We couldn’t be more excited for Alex.

One of the cool aspects of this new spot is that Keith used a layering technique that makes the imagery from the sites appear multi-dimensional, it is called 2.5D. In some respects it really draws out nicely our point of view - that a browser should be all about setting the stage for the sites you go. We continue to celebrate the killer work web developers have been doing with IE to transform the web we all love into something that is rich, fast, and more creative than any of us could have imagined.

It has been an exciting year for IE, and in many ways, the best is yet to come.

As we embark upon summer, we hope you enjoy seeing the spot in some of your favorite shows (like Anger Management and Burn Notice). And starting on 7/13, you can enjoy the spot in full surround sound in movies like Spiderman, Ice Age: Continental Drift, Red Lights, and Batman: Dark Knight Rises (starting 7/20).
