disk defragmenter

whats the deal with the disk defragmenter?
i can tell how much of the disk it has defragmented and stuff.
what the heck did microsoft do to it?
the way they made it now, you can't even tell which drive its working on
unless you open up the drive properties and tell it to work on that
particular disk.
i'm running a dualboot of xp and vista.
know which drive is working on and stuff would be nice.

I agree. MS has made the defragmenter in Vista a "black box". Use the
free Diskeeper beta for Vista instead. Works better and provides a large
amount of useful information including a graphical display as it
defragments.

Re: disk defragmenter

Does anyone know if Microsoft was in with Executive Software ( Diskkeeper)
on this version like they were on the XP version?

I agree that they need to show the diagram etc to show us the status and
fragmentation.
