    RO****.tmp.log files in system32 folder ?

Does anyone know what these files are ? It's taking up a huge 2,33GB of
space. I must assume it's part of the Vista OS, right ? Maybe not, and
possibly safe to delete to free up a lot of space.

FWIW I don't see any such files on my Vista machine. It's usually safe to
remove .log files, but I would open a few and look at the content. It may
    tell you what created them.

Cheers. I found out those were backup files created by the Registry
Optimizer module of Advanced System Optimizer software. Unbelievable
!...2.49GB's of used space...now freed up again

Avoid the use of any generic registry tools in Vista. They often identify
and remove what they percieve to be dead entries that are in fact necessary
for normal system operation. They are frequently (second only to certain
overrated antivirus programs) the cause of a number of issues that seem
unrelated but in fact are. There is no need for a registry cleaner in a
modern version of Windows (XP or Vista). The only registry tool one should
use is one designed for removal of specific entries related to a program
that was or is installed on a system.
