system restore failure

i'v been trying to do a systemstore on my computer for the last couple of
days with out any sucess i'm afraid.. the program gets so far but when it
come to resetting the system registry it pretty much stops there and no
longer continues... i'v left it there pretty much for well over 12 hours with
no luck. any suggestion would be helpful. I'c also tryed using Mcafee to do a
system clean up and it to also freezes up near the end of its routine trying
to show me the clean up results but never does i'm assuming the two are
connected some how

Re: system restore failure

Hi,

I'd say it's a pretty fair assumption. Some system protection products lock
the system down so much that the normal routines cannot do their job
properly, and that is likely what you are encountering. The solution
frequently is to uninstall the offending program.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode to run your system restore? The
few times I've been unable to do a restore, safe mode solved the
problem.
