Vista Tutorial - Windows Media Player has stopped working

The above error message appears every time I attempt to open Windows Media
Player on Vista Ultimate 64.

It goes on to say:

" A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windoes will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

It never does and I am becoming increasingly frustrated!

Can anyone suggest how to resolve this issue, please?

I'm having the EXACT same problem, I had Just upgraded my processor and added RAM, now it does not work. Someone has said it is a DRM issue and to delete all the DRM files in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\DRM , but there is nothing in the folder. Plus the preview on the right hand side will still play the files

I found the solution!! It was simple, a REFORMAT!!! AND A REINSTALL OF VISTA ULTIMATE 64 BIT. A BUNCH OF BULL, i SPENT TOO MUCH FOR THIS
