| | nmserial Error EventID=18 Ever since installing a PCI Serial/Parallel port card in my PC I have been getting the following error in my EventLog 4-5 times a day: Error: System Source: nmserial EventID: 18 Level: Error Description for EventID 18 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this is event is not installed or corrupt. Reinstall or Repair. The drivers for this MosChip PCI serial card are from Microsoft and are signed. Indeed they were actually installed by Vista from Windows Update. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling them, but this makes no difference. So, please Microsoft - what does the error mean & how can I fix it? NigelS |
