copy & write data to disc

I've spoiled myself this Xmas and bought vista home premium. Copying and
writing data from cd's & dvd's take for ever. 3.5 gigs of data takes about 30
minutes. Is this normal? Very frutrating. Can some one please help?

RE: copy & write data to disc

.... writing data to a dvd? yes, 30 minutes can be normal depending on the
speed of your dvd burner. If you mean copying data off a dvd to your
harddrive then that seems a bit slow.

could you explain exactly what you are doing?
