| | CPU running at 100% I have an Acer Travelmate 6292 running Vista. When I connect a monitor and close the lid of the notebook, the CPU jupms to 100% utilisation and the notebook becomes extremley slow. I have changed the power settings for Lid Closed to "Do nothing" If I leave the lid a little open, it operates ok. Only when the lid is virtualy closed does the problem occur. I would appreciate any advice. Regards Ralph |

| | Re: CPU running at 100% No, it is not the idle entry. The bottom of the task manager window shows CPU 100% and the notebook slows down to a snails pace. As soon as the lid is opened slightly, the CPU drops down to 5 or 6% and behaves normally. The computer speed also goes back to normal. | Vista Bus | Re: CPU running at 100% I also have an Acer 6292. On the EZ-Port dock with the lid closed 100% CPU. Task Manager says it "System" 93-98%, NT Kernel & System. Super slow. I have had to have the lid propped open and now the screen is cracked. Talked to Acer several months ago about this. They are going to get back to me. Any ideas? |

| | Re: CPU running at 100% Acer have told me that it is a problem relating to Vista. Are your running Vista ? When I war running XP the notebook was fine with the lid closed. I have another user with the same notebook running on XP and he is ok. It looks like it could be a Vista issue. I will wait for the service pack release and see if that fixes the problem.
